• Don’t file MiR before you read this.

Mail-in-Rebates or Cash back offers are very enticing yet very frustrating.

    • Read offer very carefully. Pay special attention to item/product number and make sure you are buying right product. Often time, manufacturer has same products with two different UPC/product code, you should buy product with code exactly same as described in Mail-in-Rebate(MIR) form.
    • Pay attention to required purchase date and required submission date.
    • Fill out MIR form in legible manner, print all optional information too.
    • Make copy all of receipts, UPC code, rebate form.
    • Send the MIR very next day. You don’t want to miss submission date.
    • If Rebate Processor is offering on-line rebate status check, always check the status of rebate 4 weeks after you have posted MIR. You can use Auto Submit on this site.
    • Call rebate processor if status is not valid or does not show up even after 6 weeks, resubmit missing information using copy you have made earlier.
    • Check MIR status regularly, don’t hesitate to call rebate processor, its your money and you deserve it back.
